Remodeling in Apex, NC
Remodeling in Apex, NC — kitchen and bathroom remodeling, flooring, cabinets and countertops, decks and screened porches, and additions across Apex, Holly Springs and New Hill.
Apex splits cleanly between the old town and everything built around it, and the two need different things.
The historic streets near downtown have genuinely old houses — heart pine floors, plaster, framing that predates any modern standard — and renovating them well means working with what is there rather than fighting it. Floors get flattened rather than replaced where they can be saved, trim gets matched to the profile that is already in the house, and structural work gets done properly because the framing has already been cut into by somebody adding a bathroom in 1975.
The subdivisions built through the 1990s and 2000s are the volume of the work: kitchens and primary bathrooms brought up to date, carpet replaced with hard flooring, and outdoor space added. Decks and screened porches are especially common here, and it is worth saying that this is the job we most often find built badly by somebody else — an under-sized ledger nailed rather than bolted, no flashing behind it, and footings that stop well short of where they should. We check that first on any deck we are asked to extend or resurface.
