Remodeling in Raleigh, NC
Kitchen and bathroom remodeling, tile, flooring, cabinets, countertops, additions and full renovations in Raleigh, NC — from pre-war bungalows inside the beltline to builder-grade suburbs out toward Brier Creek.
Raleigh is our largest market, and it is really two different remodeling towns depending on which side of the beltline you are on.
Inside it — Five Points, Oakwood, Hayes Barton, Mordecai — the houses are old, and old houses do not have square walls. Nothing in a 1920s bungalow is plumb, the floors slope toward the middle of the house, and every renovation is a negotiation between what the drawing says and what the framing will actually allow. That is the work we most enjoy, and it is where scribing cabinets to the wall, flattening a floor before tile goes down, and framing an opening to the door in hand rather than to a nominal size stops being a detail and starts being the whole job.
Out toward North Hills, Brier Creek and the newer subdivisions it is the opposite problem. The houses are structurally straightforward and the finishes are the issue — builder-grade cabinets, laminate tops, a garden tub nobody has ever used taking up half a primary bathroom, and carpet where there should be hard flooring. Those are fast, high-impact projects: a tub-to-shower conversion, a kitchen refit, floors replaced through the whole ground level.
